About Vicki the Poet

Native Texan and natural redhead, Vicki Goldsberry writes poetry

that is simultaneously personal and universal. Sometimes known as "the

poet without skin", Vicki is an Austin realtor and castle-finder, and

honors graduate of the University of Texas in both marketing and public

relations. Her writing appears in the Diverse*City anthologies, and she

performs at a variety of venues around Austin.

Vicki cites as major literary influences Cavafy, Baudelaire, Mary

Oliver, Marge Piercy and Anne Sexton, and credits the freedom of the

Internet with her re-entry into poetry. A former spelling champion

(14th in the nation) and dessert maven, she especially enjoys the

performance aspects of sharing herself and her work with an audience.
